HDA decided to spend our friday away from the office and volunteered our time to a Habitat for Humanity Regina corporate build. HDA was involved with the construction of phase 1 of the Haultain Crossing Project. Haultain Crossing is Habitat for Humanity’s largest Saskatchewan build in history, and second largest Canada build in history. Located at 1033 Edgar Street, the former site of Haultain School in Regina, the development will become home to sixty two families over five years, with ten units being completed by the Summer of 2016.

Our work day was scheduled form 8:30am to 3:30pm and we were involved with the following work:

  • parging building foundations
  • insulating around window frames
  • transporting drywall from main floor to second floor

We all left site with sore muscles, callases hands, and dirty clothes....but also knowing that we were building homes and hope for Regina families.
